LAMPLIGHT ARTISTS, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, created its first arts camp in the summer of 2002 in Columbia, Maryland, located in the Baltimore/Washington corridor. A strong desire to help kids explore and learn biblical truth in a kid oriented environment prompted the creation of a high energy, Bible-centered performing arts day camp for children. From its inception All About Kids Productions has been envisioned and designed as a partnership event with the local church. It provides another creative option for local churches as they seek ways to effectively relate to their community and to share the good news of the gospel. Through slow and measured growth camps are now being produced in three states. An internship program has been established and college students and young professionals have the opportunity to work with hundreds of children during the summer as they learn to communicate God's truth through the arts. LAMPLIGHT ARTISTSentered a partnership with the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware in 2003 to produce The Performing and Visual Arts Camp for Students, grades 7-12. The camp is held each summer at Skycroft Conference Center on South Mountain, just outside of Middletown, MD and attracts students from across Maryland and Delaware. In its first five summers LAMPLIGHT ARTISTS has had the privilege of working with over 2500 students and volunteers. In 2006 the All About Kids Productions' teams were asked to lead the KIDZFEST Choir at the Franklin Graham Festival held at Camden Yards, Baltimore, MD. LAMPLIGHT ARTISTS' latest project is STUDIO 516, a discipleship and training program for artists. It is currently in development. |
