An exciting project in development at Lamplight Artist is STUDIO 516 , a performing and visual arts training and discipleship program. STUDIO 516 will include training materials, conferences, and events focused on equipping artists to be salt and light in their culture.

What's in a name?

Why Studio 516?   A studio is a place where an artist works, creates, teaches, or studies. It is a place for artists in both visual and performing arts. It is where they learn, grow, collaborate, inspire� it is where they express themselves and find meaning. Figuratively it represents their domain and sphere of influence.

The number 516 draws reference to the fifth chapter and sixteenth verse of Matthew, the first book of the New Testament. Prior to verse sixteen are the very familiar words of Jesus "You are the salt of the earth"  (verse 13) and "You are the light of the world" (verse 14). In verse sixteen Jesus draws these two teaching illustrations to conclusion: "In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven".

Studio 516 will focus on encouraging artists to glorify God in their sphere of influence through the power of His Spirit.
